From engineering shutdowns in New Caledonia to community housing in Tauranga, Alexandrine Montgomery is redefining what progress looks like in New Zealand’s property industry.

A rising force in property delivery, blending sharp systems thinking with inclusive leadership

Named a finalist for the 2025 Young Achiever of the Year Award at the Property Council New Zealand Central People Awards, Alexandrine Montgomery is being recognised for more than just strong project delivery. She is helping define what the future of leadership looks like: calm, capable and committed to building better outcomes for people and places.

With over a decade of international and local experience, from London and New Caledonia to the Bay of Plenty and Waikato, Alexandrine brings clarity, energy and direction to everything she touches.

From sulphuric shutdowns to smart systems.

Alexandrine’s early career took her from planning a sulphuric acid plant shutdown in New Caledonia to supporting the $18B Battersea Power Station redevelopment in the UK. These high pressure environments sharpened her ability to solve complex problems, manage diverse stakeholders and keep programmes on track.

Since joining Veros in 2021, she has brought that same drive and precision to projects across the Bay of Plenty and Waikato, with a focus on community facilities, housing, healthcare and commercial fitouts.

Key projects include:

  • Dave Hume Pool Redevelopment: Doubled capacity for learn to swim programmes, delivered on time despite mid project delays

  • Community Housing, Devonport Rd: Delivered 20+ new homes for seniors and residents with mobility needs ahead of schedule

  • Kathleen Kilgour Centre Upgrades: Ensured continuity of care during sensitive medical facility works

  • Craigs Investment Partners Fitouts: Managed multiple national fitouts, all under budget with 95 percent client satisfaction scores

  • Kulim Park Upgrade: Transformed one of Tauranga’s busiest green spaces into a vibrant, accessible community hub

She also spends one day a week on secondment to Western Bay of Plenty District Council, supporting capital project delivery systems, reshaping workflows and mentoring in house teams. The secondment was requested by Council themselves.

Bringing others with her.

Alexandrine’s leadership is powered by people. She co-leads Veros’ health and safety programme, leads learning workshops and champions inclusive, flexible workplaces that support high performance. She also models it herself, as a working mum of (almost) three.

She is passionate about helping women in property succeed and equally committed to showing how high performance and work life balance can coexist in this industry.

“She is what the future of the property industry should look like — talented, thoughtful and creating space for others to thrive.” — Julie Price, Senior Project Manager

Shaping what comes next.

With her engineering mindset, people first leadership and relentless focus on progress, Alexandrine Montgomery is not just building projects. She is building the systems, culture and capability that will shape the future of project delivery in Aotearoa.

Her trajectory is one to watch. And one to follow.

We look forward to celebrating Alexandrine and all the finalists at the 2025 Central Property People Awards on 23 October, alongside our clients, peers and industry partners. If you’re heading along, see you there.
