Brief
Our brief was to provide end-to-end development management for Pukeroa Oruawhata Trust, to transform the Rotorua RSA building into new premium office space for Rotorua’s leading law firm Holland Beckett Law.
Overview
Strategically located in the Rotorua civic precinct, the Rotorua RSA building provided an excellent opportunity for refreshing and repositioning an older commercial building into premium A-grade office space.
Veros worked with DCA Architects to develop a statement building design that delivered high quality internal spaces and maximized the solar gain into a traditionally dark exterior. The building exterior design delivers a unique style and a façade that incorporates striking timber and aluminum louvres.
The building has been named Haupapa House and was blessed for opening in mid-August 2017 by Rev Murray Pene of Ngati Whakaue.
The project is another step in the revitalisation of the city centre of Rotorua.
Outcomes
The building opened in August 2017, with Veros delivering the project on time and under budget. The building provides a fantastic modern workplace for Holland Beckett Law, and complements the investment of Rotorua Lakes Council into the surrounding civic precinct. Pukeroa Oruawhata Trust will retain the ownership of the building as a high performing commercial asset to add to their property portfolio in Rotorua.
