Meanwhile in Mt Maunganui we are handing over the keys on the newly completed industrial units at Portside Drive.
We haven’t even had time to create a name for a newly released project in Tauriko, Tauranga. The 14 industrial units at Lot 425 Matakokiri Drive have hit the market and are almost as quickly being secured under contract. Marketing agents are Ray White for this project.
Across the board we are seeing a real surge in interest for industrial units as our regional and provincial economies in New Zealand grow. More space demand comes from that business growth including incubator and start up businesses, services firms, storage and warehousing and small scale industrial uses. As well as business owner occupiers we are seeing strong demand from investors who are looking for investment outside of traditional residential rentals and exposure to new asset classes that are providing returns well above bank interest rates.
The market and investors are discerning, with buyers looking for good locations that will provide long term growth, high occupier demand, quality in product and finishes, higher building stud heights for greater flexibility of use and building volume. Most importantly, when buying off the plan investors are looking for projects that are backed by a proven team that has the experience and track record in successfully delivering projects on time and at the quality that they buy off the plan.
