We are excited to introduce our first addition to the Veros team for 2022, Sun Kim has joined the Hamilton in the role of Assistant Project Manager and we are thrilled to have him on board! Welcome, Sun!

Tell us about yourself, and your background in property?

In 2001 I immigrated from South Korea with my family and since then I have been proud to call Hamilton and New Zealand home. In 2017, I moved to Auckland to study for a Bachelor’s in Construction and then joined a graduate programme with City Care. In this role, I was able to gain hands-on experience and strengthen my skillset working on a range of projects, this included delivering projects for local government and central government agencies.

What’s something about your new role that you are excited about?

I’m excited to join a very knowledgeable team with such diverse experience across the industry from whom I will learn so much. There are a range of different projects the team are currently working on that I can’t wait to dive into and soak up as much knowledge as possible. I’m also stoked to be part of the fast-growing Waikato team, moving straight to a brand new office right in the centre of town, a great spot!

What’s the best part of your job?

To me, the best part of my job is being part of a team working on projects that can make a difference throughout the community, with a positive impact on people’s day to day lives such as new community facilities with government organisations, retail/commercial developments and new homes. I’m always fascinated to be a part of the process and watch as a project comes to life from plans and drawings on paper to then standing in front of the finished product and stepping inside for the first time.

Why Veros?

Veros has a strong reputation and successful track record of project delivery and turning ideas into a reality. I’ve always had an interest in project management and property, so I jumped at the opportunity to get involved with industry-leading experts, who have a range of exciting projects in the pipeline.

Since moving back to Hamilton, what’s your favourite spot for coffee?

We’ve been heading to Cream Eatery in Garden Place for a team coffee most mornings since I started at Veros, and I would say it’s becoming a fast favourite. It’s perfect for a long black in the morning to get the day started and even an Iced Americano on these warm summer afternoons.
