We have been working with the Central Hawkes Bay District Council in developing an (ISP) to inform how the district grows over the next 30 years. Alongside project partners Isthmus, Veros team members Paul & Adele spent a week engaging with all parts of the community on what makes their district special and how it can be enhanced in the future.
This project will deliver a 30-year blueprint of growth opportunities across Ōtāne, Waipawa and Waipukurau.
The ISP will:
- Assist to inform the Central Hawke’s Bay District Plan review
- Outline community and infrastructure investment required to support enhanced community wellbeing
- Form the basis for implementation through the Long-Term Plan and coordinated multi-agency investment.
- Enable the completion of the Urban Growth Strategy
The Central Hawke’s Bay District Council are collaborating with Te Taiwhenua o Tamatea, strategic partners, key stakeholders, and the wider community to develop the plan.
Spatial planning is a multi-disciplinary tool. While there are many growth drivers to understand, there is also the likelihood that many things change over time. The ISP is just the start of more intense work on delivering the preferred future growth outcomes.
It is a privilege to be working in such a beautiful part of the country which is home to some amazing people. We are extremely proud to play a part in a project that is planning today to make CHB an even better place to live tomorrow.
