The challenge

Pāpāmoa Primary School was operating in facilities that no longer met the needs of a modern learning environment. From worn-out infrastructure to outdated classrooms, it was clear the school needed investment to provide a safe, functional, and future-ready space for its students and staff.

This project wasn’t just about modernising facilities. It was about restoring function, safety, and pride across an entire school, under intense pressure, in the middle of a pandemic, and with limited funds from the outset.

Navigating Pressure Points

Veros was brought in to turn complexity into clarity and deliver results in the face of shifting priorities, budget constraints, and on-site surprises.

As walls came down, the real state of the buildings was exposed: rot, decay, unsafe wiring. Veros swiftly secured $500,000 in extra funding and reshaped the scope to protect what mattered most.
With volatile pricing, stretched contractors, and uncertain timelines, Veros ran a focused procurement process—locking in costs and shielding the project from supply chain shocks.
With leadership changing hands four times, Veros provided the continuity. Clear, tailored communication kept the project aligned, moving, and on mission.
Every building was touched. Every upgrade, from LED lighting and hygienic toilet blocks to a revitalised hall, was delivered safely while school remained fully operational.

This was one of those projects where you earn every win. We weren’t just delivering upgrades - we were holding the line under pressure, making calls in the moment, and staying focused on what really mattered: giving the school a space they could be proud of.
