Project overview
The iconic Tauranga Hotel on site since 1930, was identified as highly earthquake prone necessitating its demolition. In its place, JWL Investments sought to develop an equally iconic landmark building to play a part in the revitalisation of The Strand.
Veros development managed the project for JWL from the idea through to completion. The project maximised a tight corner site, with a three level landmark building comprising a restaurant, Lone Star, and two levels of modern boutique offices above, The Lofts.

Project outcomes
The trigger to the build was the securing of a strong anchor tenant in the form of the LoneStar Restaurant chain, which occupies the entire ground floor and half of the first floor. The remaining 800 square metres is designed to be 2-3 office tenancies, with both floors including wide panoramic views across Tauranga Harbour.
