Project overview

The Tokoroa Integrated Trades Training Centre is one purpose-built campus catering for the key local sectors including farming, engineering, construction, manufacturing, hospitality, and logistics.

Tenanted by Toi Ohomai, the education facility will bring much needed tertiary education opportunities in the South Waikato. Once the new training centre starts accepting students, it is expected to train and place around 740 students each year into skilled roles.

The $14m is the largest commercial building to be constructed in Tokoroa for some time, and being located on a prominent corner on the entrance of town will provide the town with renewed vitality.

This project is underpinned by our team's ethos of successfully engaging and guiding this project through multiple service lines and providing a seamless end to end delivery for our client.

Project outcomes

Veros was instrumental in making the project happen and lead the idea through concept design and lead the Crown Infrastructure Funding application which successfully obtained $10.84M of government funding to deliver the project.

Veros are the project managers for the delivery of the trades training building and have been involved from the outset. Our team undertook all procurement relating to its build and are tasked with working collaboratively with the main contractor to ensure the project is a success. This is role has been challenging in the covid environment and there have been several programme and material related issues which have had to be carefully navigated with solutions to ensure the Trades Training Centre delivers on its objectives for the South Waikato community.
