Brief
Tauranga City Council engaged Veros to investigate 12 hectares of surplus land for a major infill development. The land, known as Smiths Farm, would provide the opportunity to bring on line a new residential community for over 500 people.
Overview
The Smiths Farm land presented an excellent development opportunity, but was not without challenges. The development of the land in a largely rural residential area necessitated extensive stakeholder engagement with the local community. A servicing strategy and access partnership with NZTA was also required to facilitate safe and effective access to the site. Veros was engaged to work through the site complexities and provide a recommended way forward to develop the land.
Veros identified different options for the potential development of the Smiths Farm site, and developed feasibility studies for the range of development options.
