Last week the South Waikato Investment Fund Trust (SWIFT) held an information day for tradespeople and suppliers regarding three of their projects. The largest of the three projects –the South Waikato Trades Training Centre is a project our team are very excited to be a part of, which was made possible by grants from the Provincial Growth Fund, Trust Waikato and SWIFT, and developed alongside Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology who will be the training provider.
The aim of the information day was to attract local tradespeople and suppliers and provide further information on how they can participate in the projects. The day was well attended, with lots of enquiry and positive feedback – deemed a success by everyone involved.
The project team welcome any enquiry from South Waikato tradespeople and building suppliers as well as others from across the Waikato region. Four main contractors have been selected to submit design/build pricing which will commence in June. Please contact Project Director Steve Home (email@example.com) for further information or if you have any questions.
We look forward to working through the next stages and getting into site works. Our team at Veros is proud to be working on the trades training centre with SWIFT and Toi Ohomai, which will have a significant impact on the local community.
More about the project:
The Centre will be a combined 3500m2 of learning, four workshops and staff space with a commercial kitchen, café and barbershop. It will also have a space allocated for a digital and entrepreneurial hub to help address the digital divide and assist young people into their own businesses. The Centre will cater for up to 500 students a year. The goal of the Trades Training Centre is to provide an aspirational pathway to employment for our local people, fully equipping them with the knowledge, skills and support for the future of work.
