JWL Investment Trust engaged Veros to produce a bespoke Medical Centre with car parks in Tauranga. Being surrounded by residential, Veros was asked to create a dynamic complex that would enhance the environment it occupied.
With Veros management and delivery of the project from inception to completion, the tenant objectives of reduced costs so that affordable medical services could to be provided to the local catchment and whanau, were met. Car parks were essential to meet demand and provide onsite parking for staff.
The complexity of the project included the need to resolve soft ground challenges. The design and construction teams, assembled by Veros, decided to install timber piles to a depth of 12 to 15m. Light building materials were used to minimize settlement, including timber framing, a polyethylene/concrete slab, and lightcrete on the first floor.
Veros’ development analysis meant an affordable project could be confirmed, and cost certainty was provided to JWL via an amended Design and Build contract with the contractor.
