Last week we welcomed Marcus Bolli to the team at Veros! We are thrilled to have Marcus aboard, and we got to know him better with a round of quickfire questions so check it out below. Welcome Marcus!
What’s your role at Veros?
Assistant Development Management and Property Advisor. Based in Tauranga, I’ll be working with Kelly Parker (Waikato based) to grow the Asset Management portfolio.
Where are you from?
Born and bred in Hamilton, I moved down to Christchurch for university for 4 years then to Hawkes Bay to a property graduate programme. I’m now settling into life at the Mount and I’m really enjoying the lifestyle here in the Bay. I feel the experience I’ve gained and the connections I’ve made working across NZ will be invaluable in my work at Veros as we continue to work on projects across the country.
Tell us about your background in the property industry?
I’ve always wanted to work in the property industry, I studied at Lincoln University, completing a Bachelor of Urban Land and Property Management, which has provided a strong foundation of knowledge from which I can develop. Most recently, I worked as a Property Consultant in Hawkes Bay. Early in this role I was exposed to various aspects of the industry, then moving to focus on acquisitions and disposals for central, local, and private clients. Throughout my work I’ve gained a well-rounded understanding of the requirements of consultants, project risks and development processes, working alongside agencies such as Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency, Kainga Ora and the Ministry of Education.
Veros are a property industry leader, with a strong reputation for project delivery and turning ideas into a reality. I’ve always had an interest in development management and having followed a few different projects by Veros in this space, I jumped at the opportunity to get involved.
Tell us something about your new role that you are excited about?
Veros work across the full lifecycle of property and I’m excited to work alongside a highly experienced team of experts and learn from the best. I’m more than ready to get involved in different projects and use my experience to work with Kelly to expand and strengthen our Asset Management service offering.
What does a typical day look like?
I’ve always been an early starter, and first on the agenda is some form of exercise, followed by a swim at the beach. I like to be in the office early, getting ahead of the game and planning the day to make the most of it. No day is ever the same, with site visits, workshops, and client meetings, it keeps me on my toes and that’s what I love about my work.
Outside of work, what’s something you are passionate about?
Amongst friends and family, I’m known as master of the grill, manning the BBQ, and cooking up the latest catch. Other than that, I’d say it’s my positive attitude that I’m known for – always smiling and ready to give everything a go.
What are you famous for?
Property is what I am passionate about. From being exposed to the industry at an early age, it has always been a huge part of my life and now I get to live and breathe it every day.
