The Rotorua Aquatic Centre’s refurbishment project stands as a testament to innovation, community-focused design, and reverence for architectural heritage. Spearheaded by Veros, this transformative revitalisation is marked by a two-stage renovation that has elevated the facility from a traditional swimming complex to a vibrant community hub, with plans for an even brighter future.

Innovative Design Features:

A striking transparent ETFE roof over the main pool hall invites natural light, merging indoor spaces with the outdoor environment.
Updated façades and change room designs enhance user experience, promoting a sense of harmony with the natural surroundings.
The preservation of the original 40-year-old glulam portals honours the centre’s rich history, connecting past and future generations.

The revitalised centre is set to become a hub of activity and wellbeing for the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty communities. It offers a versatile venue for swimming lessons, water sports, community gatherings, and leisure, ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all visitors.
