Project overview

The Regent Hotel, a cornerstone of boutique hospitality in Rotorua, embarked on an ambitious expansion project to meet surging demand. Managed by Veros, this project aimed to enhance the hotel’s capacity while maintaining its operational excellence and unique guest experiences. The expansion included the addition of 12 guest rooms, extending the hotel’s offer to 47 rooms in total.

The addition of two floors featuring 12 new guest rooms was executed with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a harmonious blend with the existing structure.
Veros prioritised minimal disruption to the hotel’s operations, implementing strategies for construction to proceed alongside ongoing hotel activities.
Initiated in May 2023 with a 33-week delivery timeline, the project demanded exceptional planning to navigate the complexities of winter construction.
To overcome site constraints, Veros facilitated off-site storage of materials, guaranteeing efficient use of space and timely progress.

As project managers, Veros demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the client’s vision of expanding without compromising the hotel’s operational integrity or guest experience. Early-stage planning and innovative construction methodologies were key to addressing the challenges of integrating new structures into the existing hotel environment.

The Rotorua Lakefront Redevelopment is envisaged as comprising a high-quality mix of commercial development and public amenity. Veros are facilitating the positive development of the Rotorua lakefront by delivering an iconic project which will meet community expectations, council needs, and iwi aspirations.
